We have been a part of the community in Grand Prairie for over 75 years now.
Our church was started by a bunch of families after World War II. Eighth Street quickly grew into a church of several hundred people, but as time went by many passed on or moved away.
Throughout good times and challenging times, Eighth Street Baptist has consistently been a close and loving church family who loves God, loves His Word, loves each other and loves their community.
Our current pastor, Matthew Woods, has been a baptized member of Eighth Street since 2003. His vision for the church is simple: To be a Bible-based church focused on glorifying God. He emphasizes verse-by-verse preaching, training believers
through Bible Study, prayer, sharing Jesus with others, having strong marriages and families, and being
multiethnic as a church.
By God's grace we have seen the church grow slowly, and steadily over the last couple of years even through the pandemic and
we are excited about what God is doing here and what He has planned for the future.
